Please note
Banhoek Stud hires out the venue only. No house caterer to work around, no fixed styling to undo. You build the event you want. Yours to arrange:
- Catering and beverages
- Furniture, décor and flowers
- Entertainment, sound and lighting
- Setup and breakdown
- Additional event requirements
Outside suppliers are welcome. We just ask to approve them first.
House rules of a working farm
The horses live here, and your event is their guest. A few rules keep everyone safe:
- We book viewings and events by appointment
- Events run until 10pm at the latest
- A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your booking
- Events keep to set areas of the farm
- No confetti, smoke bombs, fireworks or open flames
- Ask us before you fly a drone
- Do not ride or handle the horses without staff permission
- Treat the farm, its animals and the land with care

What hosts ask us
How many guests can Banhoek Stud host?
Up to 60 guests on the lawn for a large private event, and up to 15 for a small private event. The meeting room seats 6, and a photography session allows up to 8 people on site.
What is included in venue hire?
Private use of the event lawn, parking, restrooms, and basic event advice and coordination. We hire out the venue only. You bring your own suppliers and shape the space.
What does it cost to hire the venue?
A small private event is R10,000 for 4 hours (up to 15 guests) and a large private event is R30,000 for 4 hours (up to 60 guests). The private meeting room is R2,500 for a 4-hour slot, a photography session is R2,000 and a private proposal is R3,000, both for 2 hours. Commercial and extended hire is quoted on application.
Can we bring our own caterers, décor and suppliers?
Yes. Catering, drinks, furniture, décor, flowers, music, lighting and setup are all yours to choose. We just ask to approve outside suppliers first.
How late can our event run?
Until 10pm at the latest. Banhoek Stud is a working farm and the horses settle for the night, so music and celebrations wind down by then. Plan your timeline to finish by 10pm.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes. On-site parking comes with every package.

Enquire through the website, or WhatsApp or phone us. We show the venue by appointment, and a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your date.

In the Banhoek Valley outside Stellenbosch, Western Cape, a short drive from both Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
